On behalf of everybody involved in Tradfest Kilkenny, we would like to thank you hugely for coming along in such numbers at the weekend to our concerts, sessions, master classes, culinary nights and other events. Without you buying the tickets and supporting the local businesses who support us, our festival would not be continuing to grow and flourish.
To all the wonderful performers who graced our stages and took part in our Bulmers Trad Trail and Cats Trad Trail, we were thrilled to see you all and hope you’ll spread the word of our festival to your friends and on your social media platforms.
To the businesses of Kilkenny, particularly all our local publicans, thank you for your vital financial support and the way you and your staff made our visitors and musicians so welcome. We have heard very positive feedback from you and welcome any suggestions you have for improving our festival.
To the members and officials of Kilkenny County Council and Kilkenny Municipal District, thank you for your financial and organisational support and to the Garda Síochána and other local services thank you too.
To our small but effective committee of myself as Cathaoirleach, Joe Reidy, Brendan Treacy, Martin Coughlan and Martin Bridgeman mile buíochas.
Finally to our staff led by festival Director, Marian Flannery, supported by her festival assistant Róisín O’ Brien and weekend support staff Paula Fleming, Mags Murphy and Alan Mooney, your hard work and attention to detail has ensured we deserve to be considered the best small but growing Trad festival in Ireland.
Our planning for 2019 starts tomorrow morning. We look forward to seeing you back in the Marble City don gceol don gcraic agus don gcairdeas.
